Sweet-and-Sour Giant Prawns Thai Style
Giant prawns in a spicy Thai-style sauce to tickle your taste buds.
16 giant prawn tails, peeled
1 large clove of garlic
50 g pineapple
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp sugar
1½ tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp tomato sauce
3 tbsp chicken stock or water
Peel and chop the garlic. Skin the tomato (see Top Tip below), and cut it into small chunks. Chop the cucumber and pineapple into small chunks, and cut the onion into thin slices.
Mix the sauce ingredients together, and add the prawns and vegetables.
Take out four sheets of SAGA Cooking Paper. Place a quarter of the vegetable–prawn mix in the centre of each of the sheets. Make a SAGA pouch: lift the edges of the paper up, and tie into a pouch with cooking string.
Steam the pouches for approx. 10 minutes in a bamboo steamer (or, if not available, in a steam cooker).
Serve with rice or noodles.
TOP TIP: To skin a tomato, cut a cross in the bottom of the tomato, dip it into boiling water for 5 seconds and let it cool in icy water. After this hot ‘n’ cold bath the skin comes off nice ‘n’ easy!
